Fire Hose Reel

Systems

Fire Hose Reel Systems:

- Fire hose reel systems consist of pumps, pipes, water supply and hose reels located strategically in a building, ensuring proper coverage of water to combat a fire. The system is manually operated and activated by opening a valve enabling the water to flow into the hose that is typically 30 meters away.

- Fire Hose reels consist of a length of non-kinking tubing. They are permanently connected to a water supply and consist of a main turn on/off valve, a hose guide, and a hose with a nozzle. The control nozzle attached to the end of the hose enables the operator to control the direction and flow of water to the fire.

Fire Hydrant Systems

Fire Hydrant System is also called as Fire Hydrant Pump which are high water pumps designed to increase fire fighting capacity of a building by boosting pressure in the hydrant system when mains is not enough. They can also be used in water transfer and irrigation applications.

- In a building, a fire hydrant system is a safety measure or emergency equipment required in some buildings that comprises a series of components that when assembled together provide a source of water to assist fire authorities in a fire fighting process.

Types of Fire Hydrants There are two types of pressurized fire hydrants: Wet-barrel/Riser and Dry-barrel/Riser.

Fire Extinguishers

Fire extinguishers contain different chemicals, depending on the application. Handheld extinguishers, which are commonly sold at hardware stores for use in the kitchen or garage, are pressurized with nitrogen or carbon dioxide (CO2) to propel a stream of fire-squelching agent to the fire.

- A portable fire extinguisher by definition is an item of equipment for the purpose of extinguishing a fire. There are broadly six types of fire extinguisher; Water, Foam, Wet Chemical, Dry Chemical Powder, Vaporising Liquid and Carbon Dioxide. - You should

Fire Sprinkler Systems

- Fire sprinklers include a network of piping filled with water under pressure that are installed behind the walls and ceilings, and individual sprinklers are placed along the piping to protect the areas beneath them. Because the water is always in the piping, fire sprinklers are always "on call.

- Fire sprinklers work when high heat triggers the sprinkler system. When a blaze ignites, the air directly above it heats rapidly. This hot air rises and spreads along the ceiling. ... When the liquid expands, it shatters its glass confines and the sprinkler head activates.

- Alarms alert building occupants and emergency forces when a sprinkler water flow occurs. The simplest alarms are water driven gongs supplied by the sprinkler system. Electrical flow and pressure switches, connected to a building fire alarm system, are more common in large buildings.

Domestic Plumbing

Domestic clean water piping, water to the water heater and to Waste water, Soil waste, & all fixtures within a building. Common domestic water piping materials include copper, CPVC, PPR and PEX tubing (cross-linked polymers).
